Camilla is a lifestyle medicine doctor, best-selling author and food content creator known by the Instagram handle @whatyourdoctoreats.

Career

Camilla completed her undergraduate medical degree at Brighton & Sussex Medical School. She then rotated through hospital jobs in:

  • Acute Medicine/Surgery

  • Liaison Psychiatry

  • Cardiology

  • Trauma & Orthopaedics

  • Gastroenterology

  • Respiratory

  • Dermatology

  • Care of the elderly (dementia, stroke)

Later she was awarded a 6 month research scholarship on childhood obesity during her family medicine training. She went on to work as an NHS GP for 3 years whilst completing a culinary medicine course and later the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine core accreditation to qualify as a lifestyle medicine doctor. At the end of 2025 she began further teaching in gut microbiome analysis and functional medicine.

Camilla is now is the process of joining a leading personalised medicine clinic (soon to be formally announced). She will run their microbiome clinic and offer bespoke support for patients with:

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

  • Obesity

Routine testing and treatment will also be available for people who would like to optimise their microbiomes as part of a preventive medicine approach. All cases will be thoroughly reviewed by the clinic’s founding functional medicine doctors and, for complex cases, they will be discussed in a multidisciplinary team meeting to ensure an extremely robust service.

Fees include wrap around admin support and calls with a designated care coordinator:

  • MetaXplore microbiome test £399

  • 60 min initial consult £360

  • Follow up starts at £95 for 15 minutes increasing to a maximum of £480 for a 90 minute appointment.
